![]() Photo by Cooksey Summit Track: The walk to the summit is challenging, particularly in the hotter months, because most of it is steep or very steep. The return trip can take 4–5 hours. Near the top you will find a chain to help you up the last of the climb. We start at Breakfast Creek parking area then pass through a variety of vegetation communities. Subtropical and temperate rainforest, wet sclerophyll forest and heath shrub are all encountered on your journey upward. After a final rock scramble the track emerges to 360 degree views reaching every distant horizon. Location: This World Heritage rainforest park (2210 ha), located in far north-eastern NSW, is reached by taking the Pacific Highway to Murwillumbah and following the Kyogle road west for 12 km. Turn onto the Mount Warning Road and travel 5 km to the Korrumbyn Creek Picnic Area. Proceed another 1.5 km along the road to the Breakfast Creek Reserve picmic & parking area at the base of the mountain. Check Map here |
