 The new Ambassador of Switzerland to Australia, Dr Daniel Woker and his wife Myriam recently visited Queensland as part of their official tour of Australia. During their stay they were accompanied by our Queensland Honorary Consul, Daniel Gschwind, and held meetings with different State Government Ministers and officials. They also visited Brisbane’s cultural institutions and visited Swiss representatives on both the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. A series of meetings with representatives from our universities will support further scientific and educational links between Australia and Switzerland. A highlight of the visit was the official Swiss reception, supported by the Swiss Society of Queensland, at the magnificent roof-top venue at Rydges Southbank.
