Jassen, once more; come along and support Walter. The bigger the crowd the better the competition. Please bring along a plate for afternoon tea (and it would be nice to share the dishes duty so the committee members and helpers aren’t the only ones to undertake this job), and then have another few games of cards.
Mark Kiser organises this great, social day, with the loyal support of the ladies in the kitchen preparing the food … sauerkraut, delicious red cabbage, potatoes, peas, pork and wienerli … a real treat!!! The Anniversary Shoot is obviously mainly a shoot, however keglen can also be played in this competition. The shooting can be undertaken between 1.00pm and 3.00pm, with the keglen needing to be done by 5.00pm. Dinner is served at 5.30pm and is followed by the prize-giving. The spinning wheel will be in action with children eagerly selling the tickets … kindly support them!!!
This year our Swiss Ambassador, Dr David Vogelsanger, will be in attendance as he leaves NZ shores at the beginning of August. Please come along to his farewell function; David has been very committed to the Swiss communities in New Zealand and we would love to have a big crowd in attendance to offer our thanks and also bid him farewell. Look forward to seeing you!!!
Wow, Jassen again … this will be the last of the competition games, so make it a good one. Perhaps we’ll be lucky enough that Walter organises a few more card afternoons …
The 1st of August celebration is always a wonderful event … the speech by the President of the Swiss Confederation, entertainment (music, singing, alphorn, tahlerschwingen … ), a tombola (with great prizes), a delicious “swiss” supper … so come along and enjoy the company of friends and make new acquaintances in a friendly, jovial atmosphere!!! What could be more enjoyable?!!! Tickets will be sold by committee members, so please ensure you make their job easier by making your mind up immediately!!! We look forward to another big crowd!!!
Keglen recommences for another season … please come along and support this fun-loving crowd. They have heaps of fun, plenty of laughter, a bit of sport trying to down the nine pins!!) and a delicious supper. The competition is great, with trophies for both the men’s and ladies’ divisions.
