The Swiss Society Competitions allow competitors to undertake shot put, shooting (small bore), keglen and jassen. There is a separate competition for juniors aged 15 years and younger. The top 20% will be presented with a medal (at a later date) so the more competitors taking part, the better the odds of gaining a medal. Please bring you own lunch and also a plate for afternoon tea. This is a great social day with a little bit of friendly rivalry. The Championship Shoot takes place at 1.00pm, so you may participate in two shooting events if you wish.
Walter hosts the Jassen at the Club house. All competitors must be seated by 1.15pm to enjoy some fun games of cards, although there is a cup at stake … so give it your best shot!!! Please bring a plate for afternoon tea. Some further friendly card games will be played after a bite and cuppa of tea or coffee.
Othmar is organising another bus trip … this time to attend the Swiss Society AGM and the finals of the Cowbell Competition where Taranaki will do battle against either Hamilton or Auckland. We will leave on the Saturday morning and returning on Monday afternoon (times yet to be advised). Cost of the trip is unknown at this stage as it also depends on the number of people attending. This is always a fun-filled weekend, this year hosted by our friends from Wellington. It is a great time to catch up with friends and make new Kiwi-Swiss acquaintances. Othmar does a terrific job organising these bus trips, so please ring him with your booking to make his life easier (regarding size of bus, accommodation etc). We do really look forward to your support … we need strong young men for the shot put, accurate shooter, skillful / lucky jassers and reliable and precise keglers … now that’s not asking for much!!! We look forward to hearing from you!!!
Jassen is on the cards again!!! Oops, sorry the pun!!! See you there at 1.15pm sharp. Bring along skill, luck and remember to have some fun and laughter!!!
The final Championship Shoot will be held today from 1.00pm. However if you wish to play cards and shoot please give Mark a ring to ask if you can shoot a little earlier, and I’m sure that he will oblige!!! Remember juniors are most welcome, and Mark is great a giving tips or coaching … come on youngsters, give it a go!!!
Come along to cards again … enjoy!!!
Jassen, once more; come along and support Walter. The bigger the crowd the better the competition. Please bring along a plate for afternoon tea (and it would be nice to share the dishes duty so the committee members and helpers aren’t the only ones to undertake this job), and then have another few games of cards.
