This is another well-organised event run by Mark. Parents / grandparents are asked to bring a small wrapped and named present for their children / grandchildren. Adults entry fee is $5.00 (this covers the mystery prize draw) and must also bring a wrapped prize worth at least $10.00 (and thus everyone will receive a present at prize-giving). Competitors can either shoot or skittle. A Christmas children’s activity will be organised, so that children can try their hand at a variety of crafts. A pot-luck lunch will then be held, followed by Father Christmas making an appearance … this is always an exciting time for the children. A few Christmas carols will be sung before Father Christmas gives out the presents. The adult prize giving will then be held. Come along to this wonderful social day with a bit of sport, a lovely lunch, a good chat with fun and laughter!!! Don’t miss this day!!!
This event is combined with the Campervanners, hence the gates open at lunchtime. Happy Hour or hours will be held from 4.00pm (outside if the weather permits) with several jokes being told, and lots of chatting and laughter can be heard!!! A barbeque is available for those wishing to use this, and then the entertainment starts around 8.00pm … we have been so very lucky to have so much variety in the entertainment over the last few years which has been appreciated by the audience. Just before midnight ‘auld lang syne’ is played and everyone wishes each other a “HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!”. A truly wonderful evening well-organised by Ruedi and Lisette for many years!!! This is a great way to see the old year out, and the new year in!!! See you there!!!
Keglen recommences after a two month break … so come along and enjoy an evening filled with chatting, fun and laughter, and a good supper … oh, keglen is also played!!!
We will be hosting members of the Wellington Swiss Club for the semi-final of the Cowbell Competition here at the Club house. After providing participants and supporters with a hearty lunch, the serious business of the competition will commence. We will need muscly men for the shot put, accurate shooters, accomplished keglers and skillful / lucky jass players … if you fit into one or more of these categories, please come along!!! We need YOU!!! We will provide, at a small charge, dinner to those wishing to stay … and we hope that there will be quite a few of you!!! The Wellingtonians are welcome to stay at the club house, either in campervans or tents … we have extensive grounds, so please feel free to camp!!!
This is the biggest day in the Taranaki Swiss Club calendar … the annual picnic … we hope for a beautiful day and, as has been the case in the past few years, a huge crowd!!! We will have children’s activities – bottle fishing, pony rides and face painting. There will be barbequed cervelas and bratwurst for sale, together with liquid refreshments (please remember that, as we have a special licence, you may not bring your own alcohol to this event … otherwise you may jeopardise us gaining a special licence in the future) and ice creams. We will be selling tombola tickets (a swiss raffle) and there will be live Swiss music. And of course, the highlight of the picnic is the Schwingen (swiss wrestling) where there are different categories for midgets, juniors and adults (depending on numbers) … so come along and participate … everyone receives a prize … so why not give it a go??? For those wishing to stay for dinner, a delicious spaghetti bolognaise is on the cards!!! Come to this wonderful social day … a great day to catch up with friends and make new acquaintances!!! We would love to see you!!!
Another keglen evening in great company!!! Starts at 7.30pm.
