The inaugural National Jass Tournament was held at the Matangi Hall in Hamilton on Saturday June 5th 2020, and run by a very efficient Willetta Staheli with help from her husband Herbert and Heidi Wehrle. Thirty-six keen participants were ready before 9am for the first round of games, with lunch to follow and then the final round of games.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the games and the competition, and eagerly awaited the announcement of the winner … was it to be someone from Auckland, Hamilton or Taranaki?  Suspense?!!!  Prize-giving was a grand affair, with many amazing prizes up for grabs with grateful thanks expressed to the very supportive and generous sponsors.  The winner was Alby Schuler from Taranaki with Hanni Frischknecht from Hamilton runner-up … congratulations to the winners, but grateful thanks to all the participants, for without you there wouldn’t have been a competition.  Many thanks to Willetta and her helpers for organising this great tournament.
